the city: graz

Graz, the capital of Styria and Cultural Capital of Europe 2003, is situated in the south of Austria, near one of the most beautiful wine-growing districts. Graz enchants all visitors with its modern flair andwith its Old Town, protected as an UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The town’s landmark, the clocktower, situated on a hill in the middle of the city gives the opportunity for an amazing view over the whole town. In summer you can enjoy cultural events like the ”Styriarte” – the summer music festival, “La Strada” a street theater festival, several jazz festivals and other concerts on the town’s hill andin the historical alleyways. For those who prefer the gloomy side of Graz, you can visit our “friendly alien” – the museum of modern art and at night-time you can take part in the “Ghostwalk of Graz”.
